Susanna Capelouto is an independent radio and digital journalist living in Atlanta. She reports for Public Radio, writes for CNN digital and works as an assignment editor for CNN’s International Newsource.
Susanna has worked for CNN Radio and Georgia Public Broadcasting as Editor and News Director. During her careers she edited award winning shows and podcasts and has reported for NPR, Marketplace, The Takeaway, Voice of America, German Public Radio and others.
Her goal is to make every story she works on as sharable as possible. She’ll tell you about it if you ask.
Susanna is a general assignment reporter able to cover anything that’s breaking or needs attention, but she has her favorite beats which are a unique blend of State politics and governance (especially in the South), education (on all levels), and health (from global health to US healthcare).
In her career Susanna has won numerous awards from the Associated Press, The National and Georgia Broadcasters Association, The Georgia Bar Association and the Society of Professional Journalists, including the Green Eyeshade Award for Investigative Reporting
Susanna is also a past president of The Atlanta Press Club.
